POULTNEY, Vt. -
Channel 3 News has learned that a Poultney man accused of murdering a Vermont toddler has been released from jail.
31-year-old Dennis Duby pleaded not guilty to second degree murder charges. He was being held behind bars for allegedly crushing 2-year-old Deizrae Sheldon's skull.
But Saturday morning, corrections officials confirmed to Channel 3 that he was let out on bail.
That case has caused a overwhelming outcry from the community and forced the state to take a closer look at how the Department of Children and families handled the case.
