Fire destroys Keeseville home

KEESEVILLE, N.Y. -

Fire destroyed a home in Keeseville, New York.

The fire department got a call Tuesday morning about smoke coming from a home on Route 22.

Keeseville Fire Chief David Perky says no one was home at the time of the fire and no one was hurt.

It is under investigation, but the blaze does not appear to be suspicious.

"There was heavy smoke coming out, unknown occupancy. We did verify there was no one home at the time. We had a pretty good knock-down on it, we had mutual aid from Peru, South Plattsburgh," Perky said.

It only took about a half-hour to put out the flames. But fire officials say the home is a total loss.
