BARRE, Vt. -

A drug raid in Barre has landed three women behind bars. Witnesses say it was a chaotic scene. The suspects are accused of selling prescription narcotics.

The bust happened just before 2 p.m. Wednesday. Neighbors say they have seen a lot of suspicious traffic coming and going from the suspected drug house.

Police say the bust happened on Second Street in Barre. It was a joint effort between the Vermont Drug Task Force, Barre City Police and Montpelier Police.

"I was out here smoking a cigarette and I see a police car and didn't think anything of it until I saw the SWAT team coming out with guns saying 'put your hands up, get down,'" said neighbor Ayla Kempton

Police arrested Dawn-Booth Davison, 41, Cassandra Dunbar, 20, and Brittany Deyo, 22. All are charged with selling narcotics, stimulants and depressants. State police took mug shots but did not release them to the media.

"The street was pretty much full of cops," said Kempton.

"There must have been at least 11 or 12 police officer cars," said neighbor Nicole Duval

"Not including the SWAT," said Kempton.

"There was Barre City PD and then there was a couple SWAT up here and some SWAT down there," said Duval.

Police got a warrant to search Booth-Davison's home after their investigation revealed it was a haven for illegal prescription drug sales. Neighbors tell us they've noticed a constant stream of suspicious activity.

"We have noticed police officers circling this street a lot. Like we didn't understand like what it was or anything, but I think the reason the police kept coming around was because of that house. They have had a lot of traffic coming in and out all hours of the night," said Duval.

The women are due in court June 12 and police say there will likely be more arrests in the case.
