Fairfield woman accused of embezzlement

Posted: Updated:

Police say the director of an adult education program in St. Albans stole the tuition money.

Marilyn Savoy, 61, of Fairfield, is accused of embezzling $1,900 from the Northwest Technical Center at BFA.

Investigators say Savoy then lied about taking the cash over a five-month period and tried to cover her tracks.

Savoy has since resigned from the job and paid the money back.

She's due in court June 2.
