Actor Seth Rogen visits Vt. fraternity for a good cause

Funnyman Seth Rogen was in the Queen City Thursday. And it was a University of Vermont fraternity that got him here.

Members of Pi Kappa Alpha raised $27,000 for Hilarity for Charity, a nonprofit Alzheimer's research organization run by Seth Rogen and his wife, actress Lauren Miller.

The UVM fraternity raised more money than anyone else. So the couple agreed to meet the winners at the Merrill Roxy Theater for a screening of Rogen's new movie, "Neighbors," and a Q & A session.

The couple says they started raising money for the disease after Miller's mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.

"Honestly, more than anything it makes us feel better. It make us feel like we're not sure sitting there slowly watching someone deteriorate, it feels as though we are doing something to help the situation rather than just complaining about it," Rogen said.

Rogen has taken his awareness efforts to Congress, but accused lawmakers there of taking little interest in the cause. However he says public support has been overwhelming.
