What to Do: 5/3/14

Posted: Updated:

Now that the weather is (sort of) getting nicer, we've got a variety of ideas for "What to Do" for Saturday, May 3, 2014.

It's International Migratory Bird Day and there's a nature walk and more for kids 10 and up. The Outreach for Earth Stewardship is happening now at Shelburne Farms in Shelburne. May 3, 7 a.m.-1 p.m.

If you love keeping up with current artists, Sarah Blacker, the 2013 New England Music Awards Female Performer of the Year, will be at the Brandon Music Café in Brandon for a show at 7:30 p.m. at Brandon Music Café in Brandon.

Marshfield Green Up Day is just underway. Volunteers cleaning up public areas until noon. 8 a.m.-12 p.m. at Marshfield Town Garage in Marshfield. And around the state more than 200 towns are participating in Green Up Day as well, so check your local pages for what's going on in your area.

Dessert comes first at the Cambridge Area Rotary Pie for Breakfast. It's all-you-can-eat pie and bottomless cups of coffee at St. Mary's Church in Cambridge. That goes from 9 a.m. To noon. It's five dollars to get in.

Bike season is just ramping up. These seemingly simple machines can run thousands of dollars, so if you're in the market for one, going to a bike swap can be an economical choice. This weekend Earl's Cyclery and Fitness in South Burlington is hosting a bike swap. Last year they had more than 900 consigned, used bikes. Lines form early, and in the past have reached more than a half mile long. This means for the best selection, it's probably a good idea to arrive on the earlier side. This year there will be about 350 kids bikes and more than 500 adult bikes on consignment.
