Burlington police investigate knife point mugging

SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. -

There was knife point mugging in Burlington and now police are looking for witnesses.

Investigators say a man was walking on St. Paul Street around 5 p.m. Sunday evening when he says a car pulled up behind him, a man got out with a knife and allegedly stole the victim's backpack and cash.

"We look for the public's assistance, obviously. If they were in the area and witnessed anything suspicious or any of the individuals matching the descriptions to please contact the Burlington Police Department," said Sgt. Brian LaBarge, from Burlington Police Department.

Police say the suspect is described as a white man about 19-years-old and has the word "Family" tattooed on the left side of his neck. The driver of the car is a black man in his late 20s with a goatee. The passenger in the car is described as a a younger white man.
