RUTLAND, Vt. -
A Rutland man will spend five months behind bars and five more confined to his home for stealing $200,000 in tools from GE Aviation and selling them online.
John Quinn, 55, was a subcontractor for the facility, ordering parts for military and commercial jet engines. A sting operation caught Quinn in the act of selling the stolen hardware and having buyers deposit cash into his personal PayPal account.
He pleaded guilty to mail fraud in January and has paid more than $100,000 in restitutions. Quinn will begin serving his sentence next month.
