BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - A Vermont widow says she is speaking out about post-traumatic stress disorder two weeks after her troubled Army-veteran husband was tragically killed.

Amy Miner says Kryn Miner was a loving father and husband and dedicated career soldier who began struggling with mental health problems after he was injured in Afghanistan in 2010.

He died last month after prosecutors say he threw a loaded handgun at one of his teen children after assaulting his wife. Authorities say the teen shot him after Miner pulled another gun from a bag, but won't be charged.

Amy Miner says she will continue the work he began to help others suffering from PTSD. Kryn Miner designed a CrossFit workout for veterans battling emotional wounds and also spoke out about PTSD with the Lone Survivors Foundation.
