Christian Science and its Vt. connection

Posted: Updated:
BURLINGTON, Vt. -  The Christian Science religion was founded in the 1870's by Mary Baker Eddy in Boston. It's based in large part on the writings in her book "Science and Health" which argued that sickness is an illusion that can be corrected by prayer.  During the first decades of the 20th century Christian Science became the fastest growing American religion. What may be less known about Eddy is her connections to the Green Mountain State.

Kurt Morris is a researcher at the Mary Baker Eddy Library in Boston.

Kurt Morris' presentation on Mary Baker Eddy at the Vermont History Museum in Montpelier is Thursday from 12-1 p.m. For more information click here
