BURLINGTON, Vt. -- WCAX reporter Ali Freeman will become WCAX-TV’s new weekday morning co-anchor. Freeman, a graduate of U-32 High School and Clemson University, will join Steve Bottari and meteorologist Gary Sadowsky at the end of May.

Freeman is the former Rutland Bureau Chief. Her most recent assignment was covering the region as a reporter out of the WCAX newsroom in South Burlington.

“I am excited about informing our loyal viewers about the latest news as they begin their mornings. It’s important to get the day off on the right foot and we will present a solid newscast,” said Freeman. “Gary will make sure we are not serious all the time, having a little fun will also be part of our mornings.”

Freeman replaces Molly Smith who took a reporter position in Memphis, Tennessee. The Channel 3 Morning News airs from 5 to 7 a.m. each weekday.

WCAX-TV is the CBS affiliate in South Burlington, VT and is owned and operated by Mt. Mansfield Television, Inc.
