NH officials are on the lookout for wild pigs

Posted: Updated:
SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. - New Hampshire officials are on the lookout for wild pigs.

The public is being asked to report any sighting of the free-ranging feral swine. The animals are not native to North America but are turning up in New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont.

Wildlife experts say the animals are using their snouts to uproot food in turn destroying backyards, parks and golf courses.

The animals are most often black or brown and can weigh 200 pounds. If you think you've spotted one wildlife disease biologists want to hear from you.
