Collins a finalist for Rutland superintendent job

Posted: Updated:
BURLINGTON, Vt. - Burlington's resigning school superintendent may be in line for another superintendent's job.

The Rutland Northeast School Board tells WCAX News that Jeanne Collins is a finalist for the job governing schools in the Brandon area.

Just last week, Collins agreed to step down as superintendent in Burlington at the end of June. She was pressured to leave due to ongoing budget problems.

Collins told WCAX News she had hoped to stay in Burlington, but is excited about potentially working for the Rutland Northeast Supervisory Union.

Burlington is now seeking an interim superintendent to replace Collins and is asking the public to submit suggestions.
