Burlington Sunday street closures for marathon

BURLINGTON, Vt. -

Runners will hit the streets of Burlington Sunday for the 26th annual KeyBank Vermont City Marathon. And that will mean some road closures.

The race starts at 8 a.m. on Battery Street. Police say city streets and the bike path will be closed on a rolling basis. Here are the times and areas to avoid if you need to travel:

  • Church Street and cross streets - 8-10:30 a.m.
  • Park Street and cross streets - 8:15-10 a.m.
  • Pine Street 8:30-10:30 a.m.
  • Waterfront Park area 8 a.m.-2 p.m.

Police say by 11:30 a.m., all streets south of downtown will return to regular traffic. And by 1 p.m., all streets in Burlington will return to regular traffic.
