BELLOWS FALLS, Vt. -

Authorities say they've nabbed two women allegedly involved with smuggling drugs to Vermont from the Midwest.

Wednesday night, Bellows Falls police stopped a car on Williams Street. That's when they say they found 3 pounds of marijuana packaged in freezer bags and prescription pills.

Police believe the pot was coming from Michigan to be distributed in Vermont.

Ashley Buffum of Langdon, New Hampshire, and Amber Parsons of Michigan were both arrested and charged with possession of marijuana. Parsons also faces charges for having controlled drugs and attempting to distribute the pot. Both women were taken to the Southern State Correctional Facility.
