Bocce season has begun

Posted: Updated:
BURLINGTON, Vt. -

Warmer weather means outdoor activities including Bocce.

Burlington Bocce Club's "Rookie Day" took place at Oakledge Park in Burlington. It was a chance for those who are new to the sport of Bocce to train for the upcoming season. Rookie Day saw dozens of Bocce enthusiasts stop by to learn a thing or two from Bocce veterans. Novices did their best to try to get the big ball as close as possible to the small ball.

"If you're interested in playing Bocce, you can join the club and come down here whenever you want to, we offer the balls and the equipment and everything you need to play. If you're interested in joining one of the leagues, we have a singles league and a doubles league, those both start June first. We also have weekend tournaments on Saturdays, or you can come down on Sundays at 4:30 for our Bocce socials... which is casual play," said Tanner Petry of the Burlington Bocce Club.

Bocce season goes all summer until the fall when the Burlington Bocce Club will compete with other Bocce clubs in Vermont for the state championship.
