Burlington residents may notice discolored water over the next few months.
Starting May 27 the city is beginning the annual hydrant flushing. It's expected to take about four months. The city says during that time, homeowners might have discolored water because minerals and sediments in the water mains are disturbed. If that happens in your house, let the cold water run for several minutes. That should clear the water. The city doesn't recommend washing light-colored clothing in discolored water.
