NASHUA, N.H. (AP) - Accepting the endorsement of New Hampshire Sen. Kelly Ayotte, Republican Senate hopeful Scott Brown says he wants to be her "wingman" and "battle buddy" to fight on behalf of citizens struggling to create jobs and afford health care.

Brown, who won a special election in Massachusetts in 2010 before losing his seat two years later, moved to New Hampshire in December and is seeking to challenge Democratic Sen. Jeanne Shaheen.

Ayotte, who was joined by former Govs. Steve Merrill and Craig Benson, described working with Brown in the Senate and said she needs him as a teammate to help small businesses and repeal the president's health care overhaul law.

Brown faces former U.S. Sen. Bob Smith, former state Sen. Jim Rubens and conservative activist Karen Testerman, in the GOP primary.
