RUTLAND, Vt. (AP) - Vermont State Police say a prison inmate has been accused of pouring hot coffee onto another inmate's back, injuring him.
Police said the attack happened earlier this month at the Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility after 25-year-old Timothy Williams of New Haven, Vermont, the inmate who was injured, removed Jolibin Massamba's coffee from a microwave oven to cook his own food.
Police said the 36-year-old Massamba of Scranton, Pennsylvania, allegedly pursued Williams into his cell and poured the coffee on him. Williams suffered minor injuries.
Massamba currently is incarcerated on pending false pretense and false personation charges. He's was charged with simple assault Tuesday.
