Vt. awarded $1.5 million to clean brownfield sites

Vermont has been awarded about $1.5 million to help clean up brownfield sites.

The City of Barre is getting 600,000 for three sites on Merchants row. $200,000 is going to clean up the Bellows Falls Riverfront Park & Trail and another $200,000 is headed to the Twin State Fertilizer Plant in Bradford.

And $275,000 is going toward the Sandri Property and River Mill Park Sites in Saxtons River.

In all more than $17 million was handed out across New England.
