Men arrested in Burlington drug bust deny charges

BURLINGTON, Vt. - Four people denied drug charges Wednesday after a big heroin bust in Burlington.

Police raided homes in Burlington and Colchester and turned up more than $30,000 worth of heroin. 37-year-old Adam Brown and 27-year-old Aliquan Umstead of Burlington and 21-year-old Jahlil Marsh and 23-year-old Marquese Jones of New Jersey pleaded not guilty to several charges and are being held in jail.

Those cited in the case were:
  • Matthew Wilbert, 29, Colchester. Cited for multiple felony charges for the sale of heroin. 
  • Magan Tsounis, 27, Burlington. Cited and released with a citation for one felony sale of heroin.
  • Adam Brown, 37, Burlington. Charged with numerous felony charges for the sale of heroin.
  • Marquese Jones, 23, Newark, N.J. Charged with one felony charge for the sale of heroin.
  • Aliquan Umstead, 28, Newark, N.J. Charged with numerous felony charges for the sale of heroin, and conspiracy to traffic heroin.
  • Jahlil Marsh, 23, Newark, N.J. Charged with one felony charge of conspiracy to traffic heroin.
