Vermont launches new bus company

Posted: Updated:

The state of Vermont is launching a new bus company offering service between Vermont communities and locations out of state. It's called Vermont Translines and will be operated by Premier Coach.

Beginning June 9, routes will run from Burlington to Albany, New York, at a cost of $32 a ticket. Another route, from Rutland to Hanover, New Hampshire, will cost $10. The routes will provide connections to Greyhound terminals, giving riders a link to Boston, Montreal and New York.

The new service will be subsidized by the state and federal governments.
