Police say medical emergency caused driver to hit-and-run

ESSEX, Vt. -

Police say a medical emergency caused a driver to hit a cyclist before crashing into a car.

The two accidents happened along Route 2-A shortly after 5:00 p.m. Thursday.

Investigators say 47-year-old Patten Harvey of Hinesburg was behind the wheel of his Subaru in Essex when he hit a cyclist and continued down the road colliding with a car.

Police say no charges will be filed.
