Posted: Updated:

The Milton School board called a meeting Saturday to update the community on next year's proposed fiscal budget but no one showed up.

The revised budget will have more than 1 million dollars in reductions. Cuts will include 4 teaching positions and school programs across the district. The meeting comes after the failed budget in March. School board members hope this new budget will pass.

"The downfall is it is impacting programs and it is going to impact services that we provide to our students. the benefits, some of our taxpayers will see a decrease in their school tax," said Milton Superintendent John Barone.

Based on income sensitivity, nearly 60 percent of the community could see a reduction to their school taxes. School board members had hoped to break down the new budget for community members. The vote on the revised budget takes place June 3rd.
