ARLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - Vermont rescue officials have come to the aid of an Appalachian Trail hiker who injured his knee.
State police said a 911 call was received Sunday morning from 64-year-old Gary Nelson.
Nelson was found at the Kid Gore Shelter on the trail and with assistance was able to walk to where the rescue team had left their ATVs.
The Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department, Wardsboro Fire and Rescue, Wilmington Fire Department and Londonderry Technical Rescue also responded.
