BRATTLEBORO, Vt. (AP) - Brattleboro Police Chief Gene Wrinn says he's going to retire at the end of the month.

Wrinn announced Monday he plans to retire on June 27.

The Rutland Herald reports Wrinn was hired in 1986, was promoted to sergeant in 1989, captain in 2002 and chief in 2008.

The town says it will begin a search for a replacement.
