Concerns over trains carrying damaging material along Lake Champlain

Posted: Updated:
BURLINGTON, Vt. - It's been almost a year since a break-away oil train incinerated part of a Quebec town.

47 people were killed in July when several cars of a parked train containing crude oil broke free. They rolled into the heart of Lac-Megantic and exploded devastating several city blocks.

Mike Winslow is a staff scientist with the Lake Champlain Committee. He is concerned about trains carrying crude along the shores of Lake Champlain.
