World leaders joined veterans in Normandy Friday to mark the 70th Anniversary of the invasion.

Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vermont, led the Senate delegation at the event. He has attended three previous ten year anniversary ceremonies and says each time he is moved by the bravery of the young men who took the beach. He tweeted photos from his visit including the grave of Stanley J Prazak, a 20-year-old from Chittenden County who served as a tail gunner in a B-24 Liberator bomber.

"You just have to realize no matter what you might think you've done in life that was difficult it was nothing like what they did, and they're all very, very modest about it," said Leahy.
