Music concert honoring teen who died from cancer

BURLINGTON, Vt. -

The legacy of another 13-year-old who died from cancer in February is living on through music.

Maggie Philbrook became a star overnight after her starring role in a lip sync video produced at Dartmouth Hitchcock Children's Hospital. While Maggie told us she was not much of a singer, her parents say she loved music, especially loud drums. Because of that, Maggie's parents have organized the first annual Mag-A-Palooza music festival. A vision that Maggie had while she was still alive.

"It was her wish. This is what she wanted to do to thank people and give back. We are just glad we are able to do this. It's helped us. It's been very emotional but it’ll be happy tears as well as sad tears," said Stefan Philbrook, Maggie’s dad.

The festival is Sunday from 12 to 5 p.m. at the McIntyre Ski Area in Manchester New Hampshire. There will be multiple bands as well as activities for kids. Tickets are 5 dollars for students and 10 dollars for adults with proceeds benefiting organizations that supported Maggie during her battle with cancer.
