ST. ALBANS, Vt. (AP) - Two men have been charged in a break-in and assault at a Vermont apartment, using a cinder block and a knife as weapons.
Police said the men assaulted a man and a woman in St. Albans Tuesday morning before fleeing.
Chief Gary Taylor said police caught up with the vehicle as it turned into Bellows Free Academy to drop off a 14-year-old student who was with the suspects. The school went into lockdown as a precaution as the suspects were taken into custody.
Taylor said 42-year-old Vu Kieu and 32-year-old Travis Collins were arrested on aggravated assault charges. It wasn't immediately known if they had lawyers.
One of the victims was treated for treated for head trauma, bruises, and other injuries. The other suffered minor cuts and bruises.
