BURLINGTON, Vt. - A plea agreement has been reached for a woman accused of supplying alcohol to a teenage driver who was involved in a deadly crash.

Police say James Companion was drunk behind the wheel when he crashed in Colchester in May 2012, killing his passenger. They say his mother, Melissa Grant, gave him the alcohol.

Friday morning the state's attorney says Grant agreed to a 3-5 year sentence, most suspended except for three months in jail and six months home confinement. She'll also be on probation for four years.

Grant already started serving her jail sentence on May 12. She will be formally sentenced Monday.
