BURLINGTON, Vt. - A former University of Vermont employee is headed to prison for stealing from the school.

Jody Farnham was sentenced Monday to 13 months behind bars, with another three years of probation. Farnham pleaded guilty to stealing at least $185,000 from the school's artisan cheese-making program, where she was an administrator

Farnham admitted to diverting tuition checks earmarked for the program, which closed down last year after years of operational losses. Part of her sentence is to repay UVM $200,000.
