CAMBRIDGE, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a 78-year-old Vermont man was killed when his motorcycle was rear-ended by a truck in an eastern New York village.
Police tell The Post-Star of Glens Falls that Vincent Mainillo of Bennington was headed south on Route 22 around 1 p.m. Monday when he was hit from behind by a box truck in Cambridge, near the Vermont border 35 miles northeast of Albany.
Officials say Mainillo was pinned under the truck and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say Mainillo was apparently staying at a lakeside campground a few miles north of Cambridge.
Officials say the truck driver hasn't been charged. The investigation into the cause of the crash is continuing.
