BURLINGTON, Vt. - The lawyer for Macadam Mason's mom says she's suing the Vermont State Police over his death.

Mason died back in 2012 from a heart attack after being tased by a trooper.

The lawyer for Rhonda Taylor, Mason's mom, says they're bringing that civil rights suit Wednesday against the State Police.

Taylor was instrumental in the fight for a newly passed statewide Taser policy.

The medical examiner determined Mason died from the shock of a state trooper's stun gun. But the attorney general declined to bring criminal charges against that trooper, saying they could not prove his use of force was unreasonable.
