AG: Bennington police officer justified in shooting

Posted: Updated:
MONTPELIER, Vt. - Vermont Attorney General Bill Sorrell says a Bennington officer was justified for shooting a man at the police station.

In April, police say Gregory Filo, 42, refused to drop the knife he was carrying and Sgt. Michael Plusch opened fire, wounding him.

Bennington County investigators also cleared Plusch earlier this month.

Filo pleaded not guilty to two counts of assault with a deadly weapon.
