This week, the St. Albans Washington Nationals get to ask the Lake Monsters questions. The nationals range in age from 10 to 12 years old. The team really came together this season finishing with an 8-5 record. The girls had a lost of fun and were excited to ask the Lake Monsters questions:
Jasmine, a 12 year old pitcher asks, "How competitive do you think your team is?"
Lake Monsters Manager David Newhan answers, "Our team is very competitive. Whether it's playing cards in the clubhouse or competing in an at bat or on the mound, guys are very competitive, which you have to be to reach this level."
Regan, a 10 year old first baseman asks, "What's your average pitching speed?"
Lake Monsters pitcher Dominique Vattuone answers, "I would say my average pitching speed is 90 miles an hour, but we don't stress too much on velocity, more so on location and movement."
Bella, an 11 year old catcher asks, "Do you handle your victories better than your loses or losses better than your victories?"
Lake Monsters Pitcher Jonathan Massad answers, "There's a lot of positive that can come out of losing a game. You learn a lot from your losses so I would definitely take winning better than losing, but there's positive things that come out of both."
