TUCSON, Ariz. -
A Vermont man serving life in prison for killing his niece has been moved to an Arizona prison.
Michael Jacques is now in a high-security prison in Tucson. There are about 1,600 inmates and a high percentage of them are sex offenders.
Jacques is serving a life-without-parole sentence for kidnapping, sexually assaulting and killing 12-year-old Brooke Bennett in 2008.
Jacques' lawyers had argued his life would be in danger in a regular prison because of his crimes and asked a judge to recommend he go to that prison. The judge declined to make the recommendation, but Jacques was recently sent to Arizona.
