Drug concerns close waterfront bathrooms

Posted: Updated:

Bathrooms on Burlington's Waterfront are now closed to the public over drug concerns.

The Burlington Parks and Recreation Department said in an email the bathrooms located at the pavilion near the fishing pier will now be locked because of increasing issues with drug activity.

The director of Parks and Recs told WCAX News they have had instances of used needles clogging drains.

Now those restrooms are closed, unless a group has reserved that space.

Parks and Rec says this is the only location affected.
