Plattsburgh officials discuss waterfront projects

Posted: Updated:

A get-together to discuss the North Country's waterfront happened Friday in Plattsburgh.

It's the first time officials across Clinton County were able to discuss the area's waterways together and which projects should be a priority for everyone.

The meeting focused on how to better utilize the region's waterfront and take advantage of its appeal for tourism, recreation and historic value.

"We have a small grant to identify our priorities and the needs to begin our vision, our planning. There are other projects as we all know with the city's river trail that are going on that are very specific it's shovels in the ground," said Bernie Bassett, Plattsburgh town supervisor.

North Country officials hope after Friday's gathering to have a specific list of projects to work on for waterfront development.
