Stefanik tells people to vote in Essex County

TICONDEROGA, N.Y. -

A Republican candidate for New York's 21st Congressional District was in Essex County Monday telling people to get out and vote.

Elise Stefanik stopped by International Paper in Ticonderoga to greet the mill's workers during shift change.

Stefanik says she's getting ready for the Tuesday's Republican Primary facing off against Matt Doheny.

Stefanik says her goals, if she wins the Congressional seat, are creating jobs and protecting constitutional liberties.

"We are on the final sprint, and we are overwhelmed by the outpouring support and momentum for our campaign. People are looking for a new direction, and I'm optimistic that people are going to choose new leadership on Tuesday. So I hope to win on Tuesday and this November," said Stefanik.

Primary elections in New York are Tuesday, June 24. The winner of the Doheny-Stefanik race will face off against Democrat Aaron Woolf in November's general election.
