Fatal crash in Woodbury

WOODBURY, Vt. - A Massachusetts man is dead and another is seriously injured after a multi-vehicle crash in Woodbury.  It happened on Route 14 near Bailey Bridge Road and Greenwood Lake Road a little after 9 a.m. Sunday morning. Police say a vehicle driven by 52-year-old Frank Sargent was travelling northbound when it crossed the center line and struck two motorcyclists who were travelling south.  One of the riders, 55-year-old Joseph Rebello of Kingston Massachusetts was pronounced dead on the scene.  Another was seriously injured. Sargentwas also injured. He and the injured biker were transported to Copley Hospital in Morrisville.

"There were four riders, all from Massachusetts up here I think just to enjoy Vermont and guy crossed the center line and hit them. We don't have a reason why yet, we're still trying to investigate right now to figure out what all occurred," says Lt.Garry Scott of the Vermont State Police.

Route 14 remained closed throughout the morning but is now open.
