SAE Institute Miami Audio Technology Program instructor Frank Rodriguez has been chosen to handle the recording engineering duties for a new international music project for Red Bull Music Academy.

Miami, FL (PRWEB) July 01, 2014

SAE Institute Miami Audio Technology Program instructor Frank Rodriguez has been chosen to handle the recording engineering duties for a new international music project for Red Bull Music Academy. The project is being recorded at Red Bull Music Academys studios in New York, Los Angeles, London, and Sao Paulo.

DJ/producer Camilo Lara from Mexican Institute of Sound and esteemed producer/remixer Toy Selectah are producing the project, and they brought me on board, says Rodriguez, who is a three time Latin Grammy-nominated engineer/producer and has contributed his talents to dozens of triple platinum-selling releases. Its really hard to pinpoint the specific genre of what were working on because theres a little bit of everything, but Contemporary Global Urban sounds about right. Our goal is to capture a mix of styles and ideas featuring artists who you knew, artists who you know, and artists who you will know about - all of whom are featured on tracks that will make you dance, think, and say I dont know what the hell just happened, but it was cool!

Rodriguez was born in the Dominican Republic and moved to Miami at 11 years old. While in the Dominican Republic, he was a fan of merengue, bachata, and other Dominica music genres. When he arrived in the States, he embraced the Miami bass hip hop sound, Puerto Rican rap artists Vito C and Ruben DJ, and American alternative rock - including Green Day, Rage Against the Machine, Weezer, Nirvana, and Stone Temple Pilots. He graduated from Miami Sunset Senior High School in 1998, and enrolled at SAE Miami in 2002, when the campus opened.

After high school, I took some time off, and I realized that whatever career direction I was going to choose, it had to involve music, says Rodriguez. I looked at different audio technology programs that were available in the Miami area, and the one that made the most sense and best addressed my needs was the one offered by SAE.

Rodriguez enjoyed his SAE experience so much and was so impressed by the schools curriculum, staff, and Audio Technology Program that he joined the faculty in 2005.

A big advantage that SAE offers is solid curriculum and instructors who are actively working in the music industry, says Rodriguez, whose teaching specialties are Pro Tools, Ableton, all major consoles, sound-to-picture, and surround sound. By keeping ourselves relevant and of-the-moment, we can see whats new and bring it back to share with our students. This keeps them sharp and makes them extremely desirable to employers once they graduate.

In terms of advice for students who want to emulate his many achievements, Rodriguez recommends that they put as much energy, focus, and determination into their work as possible.

I tell my students that theyll get out of this journey what they put into it, says Rodriguez, who manages to fit in mixing, mastering, and recording engineering duties at Vanquish Studios in Davie, FL into his busy schedule. One hundred and ten percent invested will get you at least 110%, and sometimes much more, in return. All the successful players who are killing it out there follow that formula. I also tell my students that nine or twelve months of focused education and hard work at SAE can redefine who they are as people, and can give them the career that they always dreamed of.
