Hinesburg police ID boat operator who hit swimmer

HINESBURG, Vt. - An update on a weekend boating accident that left a Vermont woman in intensive care.

Tuesday, Hinesburg police confirmed they are investigating the accident that happened Saturday on Lake Iroquois. Police say Jane Marinsky, 62, was swimming about 30 feet off shore when she was struck by a power boat. Marinski suffered a broken sternum and ribs.

Police identified the boat operator as Christopher Thompson, 47, of Hinesburg. Police say alcohol was not a factor, but they are still looking into how the accident happened.
