Meet the Monsters-Week 3

Posted: Updated:
SWANTON, Vt. - The Swanton Rangers range in age from 8 to 10 years old. They had a very successful season finishing with a record of 8-5. They would like to thank their families for their support and encouragement all season long.

Maddie, a 10 year old second baseman and outfielder asks,  "If you could meet a ballplayer from the past who would it be and why?"

Joe Bennie, Lake Monsters infielder: "If I could meet one ballplayer from the past, it'd probably be Jackie Robinson. Not only for how great of a player he was, but for how great of a person he was as well. Breaking the color barrier.  He's a big reason the game is the way it is today. So, yeah, if I could meet anyone from the past, it'd probably be Jackie Robinson."

Mackie, a 9 year old second baseman asks, "Have you ever played in the Little League World Series?"

Brett Vertigan, Lake Monsters outfielder:  "I've not played in the Little League World Series. I played in a different league called the PONY League and I did attend the PONY League World Series and our team made it to the championship and lost in the championship."

Bella, an 8 year second baseman asks, "What's the most hits you've had in a row?

Dayton Alexander, Lake Monsters outfielder: "I'm going to have to say it was my freshman year in junior college. I can't remember how long my hit streak was, but I had a hit in every single game except one and my season was 56 games long."
