MORRISONVILLE, N.Y. - Horse lovers are enjoying the National Appaloosa Horse Show in New York this weekend.

Horseback riders came from all over the East Coast and Canada to the Clinton County Fairgrounds in Morrisonville. All day Saturday and Sunday, nearly 100 horses and their riders are competing in the event hosted by the Lake Champlain Appaloosa Club. Competitors will be racing and showing off the unique breed.

"Anyone who is interested in maybe getting into horses, or getting a horse, any local person. Our club also sponsors classes at our local circuit which involves the Dannemora Riding and Driving Club and the Franklin Trail Riders," said Anne Farden of the Lake Champlain Appaloosa Club.

The Lake Champlain Appaloosa Club says the show is always a fun family event and is free to come and watch.
