CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - September's primary for the Republican nomination for governor pits Walt Havenstein, the party-picked guy and big-time CEO, against Andrew Hemingway, the upstart tea party activist and entrepreneur.

And both will need to rally supporters during the sleepy days of summer.

Hemingway says he'll continue to roll out policy proposals such as his "tax holiday" on rooms and meals to entice visitors. Havenstein will continue to stress his credentials as a CEO capable of running a large organization.

Both will lean heavily on social media, digital outreach and traditional advertising as they vie for the opportunity to take on incumbent Democrat Maggie Hassan.

Veteran political analyst Dean Spiliotes says the key for both candidates over the next two months will be to better define themselves.
