BELLOWS FALLS, Vt. (AP) - A Vermont company that makes optical filters wants to move from the edge of Bellows Falls to a Connecticut River island near the center of the village.
Chroma Technology CEO Paul Millman told the Rockingham select board and village trustees last week that they like their current location near Interstate 91, but they'd like to move their business with just over 100 employees to an area known as "The Island."
Rockingham Development Director Francis "Dutch" Walsh says the area used to be an industrial center. A study found one of the properties is considered brownfields site, but the Bellows Falls Area Development Corporation is committed to cleaning it up at an estimated cost of $400,000.
The Brattleboro Reformer reports here are a number of businesses in the area now.
