This week we're in Barre dodging the raindrops with the Barre Mets. The Mets are a very young co-ed team ranging in age from 4 to 6 years old. This was the first opportunity for many of these Mets to play on a team. They all love the game of baseball and it showed throughout the season. Here's the Mets questions for the Lake Monsters:
5 year old Noah asks, "What type of bats do you use?"
Ryan Huck, Lake Monsters first baseman says, "That's a good question Noah. Preferably, I like to swing old hickory bat company, but every once and a while I use the Rawlings Pro Stocks or Louisville Pro Stocks that they have here for us."
5 year old Emma asks, "How many players are on a team?"
David Newhan, Lake Monsters Manager says, "Hi Emma. That's a great question. Currently we have 29 players on our roster. I think at this level it operates a little bit differently. We can carry up to 35. Typically, on a major league roster you have 25 players and as I said, we have 29 currently."
5 year old Maria asks, "Do you play in the rain"
Ben McQuown, Lake Monsters outfielder says, "Hi Maria. That's a great question. Sometimes if the rain is bearable they'll let us play. But if it's coming down pretty hard, they don't want any of the players getting hurt, so they'll probably just go into a rain delay. If it starts flooding then they'll suspend the game."
