MINEOLA, N.Y. (AP) - A Long Island financial planner has pleaded not guilty to charges he stole over $1 million from a camp for special needs people.

An indictment unsealed Tuesday charged Drew Morgan of Rockville Centre with grand larceny.

Newsday (http://nwsdy.li/VJ86PG ) says he and his attorney declined to comment after his arraignment in Mineola.

Prosecutors allege Morgan stole $1.1 million intended for Camp ANCHOR in Lido Beach while treasurer for a fund maintained by a nonprofit that runs the recreation program for disabled children and adults with the Town of Hempstead.

Morgan also was accused of stealing over $130,000 from a nonprofit created to raise money for ANCHOR and a group for autistic people. Prosecutors say he also stole $475,000 from two financial planning clients.

He's free after posting a $240,000 bond.
