BENNINGTON, Vt. (AP) - The Southwest Vermont Regional Technical School District has a new leader.
The Bennington Banner reports Michael Lawler is acting as director with the responsibilities of a superintendent. He signed a one-year contract. He has applied for, but not yet received a license to be a superintendent in the state.
Lawler succeeds Jim Culkeen, now interim superintendent with the Southwest Vermont Supervisory Union. Lawler had been Culkeen's assistant director and had taught at the Career Development Center before that. He's a former Bennington police officer.
